I began my drumming journey in 1998 when I received a pair of drumsticks from my aunt for Christmas. After I had proved to my parents my commitment by ruthlessly beating their couch every day, they signed me up for 5th grade band, with private drum lessons soon to follow.

After high school I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. I was fortunate to be able to study with many world-class drummers and educators and to be in an environment surrounded by other musicians who felt the same way about music that I did. I majored in Professional Music and graduated with a BA in 2011.

I began teaching professionally after I graduated, as well as pursuing projects that excited and pushed me. The most notable of those was a metal band called Numbers and an indie folk/pop band called Hey Marseilles. I played on Numbers' self-titled EP as well as their full-length album "Three," and I’m on Hey Marseilles' debut full-length album "To Travels & Trunks." In 2016 I toured the country with them in support of their self-titled full-length album.

Some more fun facts about me:

  • My favorite drummers are Eloy Casagrande, Dave DiCenso, and Thomas Pridgen (with an honorable mention going out to Travis Barker since he was my idol growing up)
  • Bands that have had a very big impact on the drummer that I am today are: Blink-182, Box Car Racer, Incubus, Dave Matthews Band, Killswitch Engage, August Burns Red, and Periphery
  • The drummer that made me want to play drums back in the fourth grade was... Zac Hanson
